Originally published on SBReport.net on June 6, 2012 he Oakland Raiders announced the resigning of defensive lineman Desmond Bryant after Wednesday’s Organized Team Activity. Bryant appeared in all 16 games last season, including 10 starts, while accumulating a career high five sacks and 35 tackles. Overall, Bryant has appeared in 47 games over his three-year career with the Raiders. Bryant first joined the Silver & Black when he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2009, and has accumulated a total of 88 tackles, 7.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Bryant contributed heavily to a defensive line that finished 15th in the NFL with 39 sacks, 11 sacks behind the league-leading Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles. Bryant had been practicing in the OTA practice sessions with the Raiders without signing his restricted-rights tender while the Raiders and his agent attempted to work out a deal. Bryant is listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds in the press release distributed by the Raiders. Specifics of the deal are yet to be disclosed.
