Originally published on SBReport.net on June 7, 2012 The Oakland Raiders have announced on Thursday the signing of three of their 2012 NFL draft picks: Defensive end Jack Crawford, defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi, and linebacker Nathan Stupar. The three signings mark the first three Raider draft picks from the 2012 draft to come to terms with the organization. According to the press release distributed by the Raiders, Crawford is listed as a 6-foot-5, 274-pound defensive end that was drafted in the fifth round (158th overall) out of Penn State. Crawford played ball all four years at Penn State, playing in 13 games as a senior while accumulating 42 tackles, 6.5 tackles, two forced fumbles along with six passes defended. Stupar played at Penn State as well, ranking third on the team with 80 tackles as a senior before being drafted in the seventh round (230th overall) by the Raiders. Stupar was also named Academic All-Bit-Ten The athletic Bilukidi is listed as a 6-foot-5, 311-pound defensive tackle. Bilukidi was drafted as the Raiders sixth-round draft pick (189th overall). Bilukidi, who was born in Angola and has lived in Canada, France and Brazil, transferred to Georgia State from Eastern Arizona Junior College and established a program record in his two-year tenure with 10 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss. Bilikudi recorded a team high five sacks as a senior, adding 38 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. The three signings also mark the first draft picks that Raiders new general manager Reggie McKenzie has signed.

Originally published on SBReport.net on June 6, 2012 he Oakland Raiders announced the resigning of defensive lineman Desmond Bryant after Wednesday’s Organized Team Activity. Bryant appeared in all 16 games last season, including 10 starts, while accumulating a career high five sacks and 35 tackles. Overall, Bryant has appeared in 47 games over his three-year career with the Raiders. Bryant first joined the Silver & Black when he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2009, and has accumulated a total of 88 tackles, 7.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Bryant contributed heavily to a defensive line that finished 15th in the NFL with 39 sacks, 11 sacks behind the league-leading Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles. Bryant had been practicing in the OTA practice sessions with the Raiders without signing his restricted-rights tender while the Raiders and his agent attempted to work out a deal. Bryant is listed at 6-foot-5, 290 pounds in the press release distributed by the Raiders. Specifics of the deal are yet to be disclosed. Photo courtesy of Bob Carr Originally published on SBReport.net on June 4, 2012 Oakland Raiders fullback Marcel Reece has now signed his exclusive-rights tender, the Raiders announced Monday. The team also announced that the 6’2”, 250-pound fullback participated in the teams’ Organized Team Activities on Monday. The workout marks the first OTA session he has attended. Reece has proven to be an integral part of the Raiders offense since he joined the Silver & Black as an undrafted free agent in 2008, appearing in 30 career games and starting 16 of the contests. Reece, who wide receiver at the University of Washington, has become a versatile player to the offense. Reece is a key piece of the Raiders passing game, hauling in 54 receptions for 654 yards and five touchdowns since becoming a Raider. Reece also has 47 carries for 234 yards and one rushing touchdown. Reece has accumulated 52 receptions for 634 and all five touchdowns the last two years alone. The return of Reece brings a versatile weapon that new offensive coordinator Greg Knapp can integrate into his offense and adds another threat in both the passing and rushing games. Once former head coach Hue Jackson traded to get quarterback Carson Palmer in the Silver & Black, Reece hauled in 21 receptions for 258 yards in nine games. |
